Do you struggle with an unstable or chronic back issues? Does your yoga practice trigger back pain? Or, would you simply like to develop good preventable back health? If the answer to these questions is yes, this workshop can help! This workshop is for anyone who wants to improve their back health and learn more about their anatomy. There is no prerequisite to attend.
In this workshop we will discuss cultural trends that are causing back pain and work towards relearning a healthy alignment and body posture through yoga. By learning to feel neutrality in the body which starts with the pelvis and then find ways to support this body position our paradigm may shift in a wonderful way! We will relate this to postures and transitions in yoga practice by examining some key places where we can improve the quality of movement. This class will benefit students and teachers of all levels and traditions.
Michelle Dorer is a veteran Ashtanga Yoga practitioner and teacher with almost 20 years of teaching experience and a direct study under Pattabhi Jois and his Senior Teachers. She is dedicated to the tradition of Ashtanga Yoga being taught in a way that is accessible to all students of different age, body type, and ability level. Her ability to adapt the practice in an intelligent way to help heal and continue practice safely is one of her unique gifts. She loves working with students, sharing her knowledge, and supporting and guiding the growth that Yoga brings.
