This is a gentle Yoga class with a brief Reiki session, essential oils, sound therapy, and a guided meditation incorporated into it. Gentle Yoga is performed at a slower pace, with less intense positions, and includes extended time for mediation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. There is more emphasis on stretching, seated poses, and low-impact movements. Modifications are provided for all levels.
Reiki is a Japanese word translated as “Universal Life Energy.” Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, meditation, and reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing. With the permission of students, brief Reiki touch is incorporated into the meditation portion of classes.
Noreen is a twelve-year practitioner of Yoga and a registered RYT-200 certified Yoga Alliance Instructor and Reiki Master Practitioner with experience in providing training sessions to people of different age groups and levels. Her Reiki certification is through the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki System of Natural Healing and she will be completing her RYT-500 Yoga certification in November, 2023.
She is an expert in Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Flow, Restorative, and Yin Yoga techniques. She works with participants' capabilities and limitations to design an individual asana plan that will fit them. She guides classes focused on promoting the well-being of the mind, body, and spirit through asanas and meditation. Meditations are guided with the use of essential oils, quartz sound bowls, Koshi Chimes, and other sound tools.
