Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine native to India to help us live our most whole and healthy lives. It is often referred to as the "sister science of yoga". It's been said in Ayurveda that the heart is the second brain. In this workshop we'll explore:
- The three gunas (sattva, rajas, and tamas) that are present in all things and how they relate to balancing our minds, spirits, and actions
- Using our senses to improve our state of mind and balance
- Rituals to bring balance to our busy lives such as the use of body oils, massage, pranayama (breathing) and meditation
Workshop will conclude with self-massage practice and restorative yoga class.
Ayurveda living can elevate your yoga lifestyle to new levels as you seek to better understand yourself and make choices with fierce self-love and compassion for a lifetime of health.
Experience needed for workshop: growing knowledge of your personal dosha and awareness of attributes to better identify imbalances is helpful but not required.
Class will be instructed by Rebecca Childress, Ayurveda Lifestyle Coach, RYT, and YogaFit for Warriors trauma informed yoga teacher.
